Director Robert Altman died on November 20, 2006. He was 81. Altman's movie "Short Cuts" was featured on the August 27 th's movie night, hosted by Rory.
Personally I am not a big Altman fan but it is still very sad to hear about the death of Altman. AP stated he was working on the fictionalized version of "Hands on A Hardbody" (which I really want to see).

i didn't really think a fictionalized version of 'Hands on a Hardbody' needed to be made... just like 'Grey Gardens', the documentary stands on its own and the real people are much better characters than anyone could have written
'Hands on a Hardbody' would definitely be a good movie night pick though...
yeah, when i say i want to see it, i mean the original one. And netflix doesn't have it, so I guess I'll have to go to Hollywood videos.
And I believe I was a second faster than Criterion on posting Robert Altman's death.
