I was thinking since you guys have such boners over a themed month, maybe February could be a black directors month, since it's also black history month. Maybe cheesy, but it seems like a nice fit.
Also, Josh Nolan, who's been to a few movie nights, is interested in hosting sometime. He's got a few films he repeatedly tells me to show, and wants to host, but always tells me too late. Would you guys be adverse to going over to his place one of these Sundays? I'll work out with him when a good time would be.

i'd actually thought about the black history month thing too... i'm down for it, and i'm pretty sure rory's gonna be too.
after doing some preliminary research, i think it will be a fairly hard topic unless we all pick spike lee joints.
also, it would be cool for Josh to host... the more people, the better (unless they have really bad taste)... hopefully we can figure out ahead of time a night he can host... usually he says something at five on sunday like, "ya'll should have it at my place tonight"
it should be a black director's month without spike lee, if we do it, since everyone knows spike lee.
josh is cool. i won't object to any of that. as long as we all know in advance.
I'm cool with having a black director's theme for February. I'm cool with watching an upcoming film at Josh's place and having him in the group.
Just to warn y'all: I'm leaning towards picking Melvin Van Peebles' 1971 film "Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song" for my black director's pick. Other picks on the horizon for me include "Sunrise" and "La Strada". My request is that you hold off on watching those until we get to see them for Movie Night but (of course) you are free to do whatever you want.
