Shirt Idea

At our last movie night, we discussed the possibility of making V-Neck shirts, and I think we should definately do it. A lot of people haven't seen the logo that Joe made, either, so I put together this prototype of the shirt.

It doesn't have to be white, but white seemed the most sensible. Here is the American Apparel website for V-Necks: http://store.americanapparel.net/2456.html#i

I really think we should have the V-Neck shirts; they look very tennis player, especially with the logo, and we jujst so happen to play (virtual) tennis every few movie nights!

Let me know what you guys think. Joe, Jason, and I all know how to do silk-screening, so the only costs would really be the $15 for the shirts and everyone could pitch in for the necessary chemicals.

Having our own shirt? It sounds so cool that it'll make us the geekiest kids on the block.

White is nice but I don't know if it is too transparent. I like the cranberry color too.

Look at the "Diagonal Tri-color shirt". It looks very spunky.

I'm cool with whatever, but I must admit I look pretty cool in that v-neck. I do have a bit of a problem paying $15 for a white t-shirt, v-neck or otherwise.

As far as geekiness is concerned, having shirts would definitely geekify us some, but our geek-o-meter is already in the red without the shirts.

Personally, I like the v-neck thing, but the logo should be on the other side.

... However, that particular logo does look good on a white shirt.

so what color do you want then, Joe?

And I'm for logos on the left too.

So, are girls getting the v-neck too?

I liked Franciso's spunky shirt best. I also like the v-neck sea foam color.

White looks good/appropriate, actually, but I just think $15 for a white t-shirt is a bit high considering you can buy a Hanes 3-pack for like $10. Either way you can see through it. I still like the idea though, and if everyone else wanted white, I'd proudly wear a $15 white shirt.

My second choice would actually be the cranberry v-neck you mentioned with a white background under the logo.

The more I think about it, though, the more I like the white.

the "spunky" shirt is cool until you see the price

I think sea foam could be good too. It's difficult when there are so many colors. I think I'll be agree to most colors except for the gold, lemon, navy, grey and stripes.

Joe, when you said "white background under the logo" on the cranberry, do you mean white for the logo? I think that's good. Or my second choice would be gold-yellow logo on cranberry shirt.

And there's a price to pay to be spunky.

I bet Rory won't read all this until Friday.

Well, technically, the white part of the logo image is not part of the logo itself.

What I meant was that it could be done with a white circle behind/underneath the logo (which would remain a dark color). Another option would be for the logo to be a light color (like the gold-yellow color you mentioned). This is all assuming we used a dark-colored shirt, like cranberry. If we used white or seafoam green - which, along with cranberry, round out my top three color choices - the logo would be printed in a dark color.

As per the "spunky" shirt, I really like the shirt and I've thought about buying one before, but I don't know how it would really look with a logo printed on it. It may be a little too much going on for one article of clothing. I see it more as a stand alone t-shirt. This is just my opinion, though.

As per some people maybe not wanting to wear v-neck shirts, we could always go the standard solid-color t-shirt route, or use both v-neck and regular (provided they are the same color). Those who want v-neck and are cool enough to pull it off with shades (me, austin) can wear v-neck. Those who don't want their cleavage busting out everywhere (francisco, jennifer) or can't wear v-necks for religious reasons (jason, rory, caitlin) can wear regular t-shirts.

don't be silly joe, my religion only forbids me from wearing clip-on ties.

btw, i think the tri-colour shirt would make us look like a bunch of baguettes.

I am fond of this shirt.

Well, Francisco, it is 12:05 AM at the moment so I suppose you are right: I didn't read this until Friday.

I like the idea of a shirt for Cinematheque Houston and I like the logo but I am not a fan of just a plain white shirt. I'm also not sold on the v-neck. Do we all have to get the same color / style shirt?
